VILLA DPK

Appearing from the exterior as a large white, carved volume sitting on travertine walls below, this villa sits in the center of a garden, appearing to float above a swimming pool. The pool seems to flow outwards from the house, with the sound of trickling water welcoming visitors and creating a relaxing atmosphere. Internally organized utilizing the Hindu tradition of “vastu”, the generously proportioned spaces promote a sensation of harmony as the visitor moves through them.

With a blank facade facing the road and entrance gate, the building has been designed with privacy in mind and faces sideways, enhancing the privacy within the house.  Large, rectangular cuts in the white, first floor volume create the illusion that the building is a piece of inhabited sculpture that has been eroded carefully. Internally, a large double height void creates a visual link between ground and first floor. The roof terrace, which boasts a home gym, adds a relaxing and secluded exterior space.
