The project consists of three villas designed for three brothers. Externally, the villas can be read as three long rectangular volumes which, when viewed from outside of the property, appear to float above ground level. A wooden screen wraps around these three volumes, inspired by a “mashrabiya” pattern used in traditional Emirati houses.
The first floor, accessed via a spiral staircase or lift, contains bedroom and a seating area. Each of the bedrooms has a private terrace which opens to the sky hidden behind the mashrabiya screen which wraps around the villa. A separate, square volume sitting beside the main, long rectangular volume and accessed via a first floor bridge, contains a generously proportioned master bedroom which has a large walk-in closet and master bathroom.
The ground floor, organized as a u-shaped volume that opens onto an internal courtyard, contains the main living spaces including the majlis and the family rooms. The service functions and garage are housed in a smaller rectangular building to the rear of the property.
